a few weeks ago we went to see family on the eastern shore of maryland. we had a great visit and took some time to check out the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. we got lucky and saw lots of ducks, a handful of osprey and egrets, a big turtle and one bald eagle.

bald eagle taking off from his perch. the eagle flew around for a long time showing off. at one point is was so windy that the eagle was flapping his wings but not moving forward - that was neat to see!
